Mastering the balance bikes...

This week the Romans and Vikings have been learning how to use the balance bikes.

First we had to master the art of putting on our helmets and then taking them off!  Imogyn tried so hard to squeeze the clips, 'This is so tricky!'
We then were good to go.

The children listened carefully to the safety rules they must follow if they want to use our bikes.  Riley told the group, 'You have to put a helmet on to keep your head safe.'

Remember Early Years...scoot, scoot...lift your feet.  We were all a bit wobbly at first so we will keep our feet on the floor for now!

Twigs, leaves, conkers and more leaves!

Romans and Vikings made a shock discovery on their return to school, after half term. The whole area was covered with leaves, sticks and conkers.  They covered the floors, mats, tables and were even in the sand!

'Look someone has made a big mess!' shouted Lockie.  'Well, looks like we had better sort this out,' replied Skye.

All the children searched the area for clues.  Bella eventually saw a leafman hiding amongst the leaves.  'It's a leaf person, he has acorn eyes!'

Lots of the children concluded that it must have been down to the wind!  Gold decided, 'Mrs Owen must have left the door open.'
