Today the early years had a visit from vet Dominic as part of our people who help us topic. He told us about his day and how he cares for animals. He showed us some x rays and we could see that some naughty pets had been eating some things that they should not have been. We also had to guess from the x ray which animal it was. Dominic also showed the children how to put a bandage on. He told us that during the day he performs surgery on pets, we got to see the different things that he has to wear to ensure that he is clean. We also found out that dogs lose their teeth when they are young, just like us. Dominic had some of his pet dogs teeth to show us, they were tiny.
The children thought of some questions to ask:
Lyla - Do you help little pets?
Riley - If animals eat chocolate will they die?
Gold - Do you look after pets in they homes?
Naa'irah - Do you use an x-ray machine?
Georgie - Do you give injections?
Sophia - How many animals can you help in a day?
Lockie - Do you have an ambulance?
Finlay - Do you help tigers?
Thank you Dominic for giving up your time to come and visit us this morning, the children really enjoyed the visit.
