Early Years have enjoyed celebrating Diwali, the Festival of Lights, today. We have heard the story of Rama and Sita and learnt all about how Hindus celebrate with Divas, fireworks, flowers, dancing and giving money. We also watched some videos from the weekend of the Diwali festival and parade through Northampton town centre. The children were particularly impressed with the huge Rama and Sita models.

Mrs Popat came to talk to us about how she celebrates with her family. She wore a beautiful dress and taught us some dances to some traditional music. Thank you Mrs Popat, and well done Vikings and Romans for your lovely dancing! Happy Diwali!

Arts Week - Snails October 2017

This week the children have been exploring snails and had the opportunity to look at some baby African snails brougt in by Elsie.  They were amazed how small they were.

The children had fun mixing their own colours to paint pictures of snails.  The children showed good concentration to find all the different shades of colours with the paints they chose.

We all used a range of tools to make marks to represent the patterns and shapes of snail shells.
