The Black Death

How did the Black Death spread so quickly?

Our mission was to discover how the Black Death spread across the world and wiped out populations so quickly. The bacteria Yersin Pestis, was spread easily and quickly by rats and fleas. To understand the speed at which bacteria grows we decided to grow our own in a petri dish. We swabbed various areas of the school, including the toilet bowl, handrail and classroom floor. Take a look at our shocking and slightly revolting results.
