Christmas Post Box

The Abbey Primary Christmas post box is available for children to bring their Christmas cards in to be given out in class. Please ensure the name of the child who is to receive the card and their class name is clearly written on the envelope. The last day for posting is Tuesday 19th December 2017.


Magic Club Performance

Well done to all the children who took part in the Magic Club performance on Wednesday. Thank you to all parents/carers, family and friends who came to watch.


Year 5/6 Christingle

Thank you to all Year 5 and 6 parents/carers, families and friends who attended the Christingle on Thursday. Well done to all the children who took part. A big thank you to all staff involved, particularly Mrs Diedhiou for all her hard work.



All clubs have now finished for this term.

New groups of children start in January for Homework Club, Chess Club, Art Club, Year 2 My Maths and Year 3/4 My Maths. Book Club and Choir continue with the same children. Year 1 Construction Club, Year 6 My Maths and Year 3 choir start in January. Places for these clubs have been confirmed by text.

All school-led clubs re-start week beginning 8th January 2018.

A letter has been sent home today regarding a Spring term Magic Club. Please return reply slips with payment in an envelope to the school office by Wednesday 20th December 2017.


The Abbey Primary Choir - Year 4, 5 & 6

Well done to the choir for their lovely singing at the Grosvenor Centre today. Thank you to all parents/carers who came to watch and support them.

Party Afternoon

On Tuesday 19th December all classes will enjoy a party afternoon with light snacks and drinks provided by the school. The children will be able to wear their own clothes on this day, but please ensure they are appropriate for a day in school and going outside at break time and lunchtime.


Anxiety Workshop

We have a clinical hypnotherapist coming in to school to deliver a workshop for parents/carers who feel they would benefit from learning more about anxiety in children and how best to support them.

The aim of the workshop is to provide parents/carers with simple, yet effective, techniques that they can use with their children when feeling anxious and in the height of an anxiety attack.

Information sheets to back up everything discussed will also be provided.

This workshop will be taking place on Thursday 25th January 2018 at 1.00 - 3.00pm in school. There are limited places available for this event so will be offered on a first come first served basis. To book a place, please see Mrs Barker in the school office as soon as possible.


Walk In Wednesdays

Each Year group (Year 1 to 4) will be hosting 'Walk In Wednesdays' from 2.30-2.50pm in the school hall on the following dates.

Online Safety - Date For Your Diary

On Wednesday 21st February 2018 6.00 - 7.00pm, a session for parents/carers will be hosted by Mr Simon Aston (Online Safety Officer at Northamptonshire County Council) about the importance of online safety and how to keep children safe online. More details to follow in January 2018.


Sports Days Summer Term 2018

The dates for Sports Days for next year are as follows:

EYFS - Tuesday 26th June 2018 9.15 - 9.45am (Tuesday 3rd July if wet)

KS1 (Year 1 & 2) - Tuesday 26th June 2018 10.00 - 11.00am (Tuesday 3rd July if wet)

Lower KS2 (Year 3 & 4) - Monday 25th June 2018 9.15 - 10.30am (Monday 2nd July if wet)

Upper KS2 (Year 5 & 6) - Monday 25th June 2018 10.30 - 11.45am (Monday 2nd July if wet)

Please make a note of these dates in your diaries.


School Meals

Our meals are provided by Chartwells. If you wish to book school meals, please book with Chartwells using your child's login for ParentPay. Please book your child’s meals a full week in advance, the deadline of which is midnight on Tuesdays for school meals required the following week. If you miss the deadlines, you will need to provide your child with a packed lunch.


Inconsiderate Parking

If you have any concerns or complaints regarding parking issues, please report registration numbers/incidents to the school office, Northamptonshire County Council and Northampton South West Police via the following links:

Please show consideration to our residents and parents/carers when parking outside school. We also ask that you drive slowly, 5MPH, on the school driveway.

Please do not park on both sides of the road outside of school as this prevents emergency services from accessing this road. Do not park on the zig zag lines or block driveways. Please show consideration for our local residents and think about the safety of ALL OUR CHILDREN!

Thank you to the majority of parents/carers who do park and drive considerately.
